Can anyone recommend a good baby video monitor with pan/tilt feature?

Apey

Answer
The Samsung SEW-3037W is a great video monitor with pan/tilt and zoom features. It also comes with night vision, good quality audio and good battery life. You might also want to consider the Levana Astra. This model has really good battery life.

The Motorola MBP36 is also a popular choice, but I think the above mentioned models are better

is this samsung monitor worth the extra $90?

Answer
Hanns·G HH-241HPB Black 23.6" 5ms HDMI Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 DC 15000:1(1000:1) Built in Speakers - Retail
Pros: Large enough for my needs, no stuck or dead pixels, arrived promptly. Has good color contrast and displays very little if any banding

Cons: Backlight bleed on each corner with a rather large bar of light along the bottom edge. Very distracting on dark scenes, with any LCD you can expect a bit of bleed (except those fancy LED backlights) but this is a bit of above average in my books.

Other Thoughts: Can't complain too much, for a monitor under $170.00 at the time of purchase, there wasn't much to expect.

SAMSUNG 2333HD High Glossy Black 23" 5ms HDMI Widescreen Full HD LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 DC 10,000:1 (1,000:1) Built in Speakers - Retail
Pros: Crystal clear Hd satellite picture. Beautiful Monitor picture.
HDMI cable included. A great value!

Cons: Stand was awkward to put in. Power plug did not have a secure connection . I called Samsung and they sent me a new plug without a hassle. No problems what so ever since then.

Other Thoughts:
1.This Monitor/TV is 1080P. It has its own tuner...meaning it is an HD TV OR a Monitor. This product is a "steal" at this price.
2.I have a set of Altec Lansing speakers with subwoofer hooked up and the sound is wonderful. This is not a $1000.00 TV.
3.If you expect the same don't buy it. But if you are looking for a Superb picture either as a TV or a monitor and 23" 's is large enough for your needs...BUY IT! I really wanted to give it a 5 but felt it wouldn't be fair since I had to request a new power plug from Samsung.

How do i find the instructions on how to operate the samsung wireless color camera model SEB-101 6RW?

vicky

It's a beby monitor by samsung and I need the instruction booklet on how to oparate it

Answer
Trying to find that camera model number is near to impossible on Samsung's website or even the internet in general. What I did find out though is that the model number you mentioned seems to be an an accessory camera to a baby monitoring system. So, you need to find the model number of the main system.

Here is a list of all Baby Monitoring models...

When playing a pc game, my monitor looses signal?

Bobesko B

When I start to play a game, after like 10 or 20 minutes I loose monitor signal. I have Vista ultimate, quad core 9400, GF 9800 gtx+, 4 gigs of Ram. My monitor is Samsung t240HD. I have newest drivers installed from Nvidia web page and also my GPU is not overheating it has about 65 celsius while playing newest games.

Answer
Try adjusting your CPU probably there. With things like that its impossible for those babies to be disrupted while playing. Try adjusting your CPU-Monitor connection wires. Its probably there

I just purchased a Samsung 226BW monitor...what is the best way to clean the frame part and the screen itself?

14sephora

Is any type of microfiber safe for the frame and screen as well?

Answer
Good Day,

I have the answer for you. Baby wipes (unscented type) are the ultimate cleaning agent for laptop screens and the entire casing including the keyboard. The wipes are totally non-toxic and can be used to clean lots of surfaces including laptops, counter tops, stains on shirts etc. Think about it this way. If the wipes can clean up a diaper mess and not harm your skin, just imagine how clean the laptop could be.

Here is the process:
1: Use the wipe on the laptop screen moving gently back and forth to cover the entire screen

2: Use a napkin to gently wipe off the solution and the screen will be dry and clean again

What Is a good Baby Monitor?

Pam

I've been looking on amazon for a baby monitor but it seems like all the reviews i read contradict each other. i was hoping someone could compare the experiences they had with baby monitors and talk about which brands they loved or hated

Answer
Hi Pam,

It depends on your budget and what you want from a baby monitor. Basically there are three ways of monitoring; audio, video, or movement sensing. Generally the cheaper baby monitors are just audio ones, and the more expensive options use video. For under $100, I can recommend the Angelcare Baby Movement and Sound Monitor or for a video monitor, the Levana Jena. For higher end baby monitors, the Samsung SEW-3037W and the Levana Astra are both good choices.

How to fix my new computer Internet?

Emilee

I just got a Samsung Notebook Series 5 and it was a certified open box from Geek Squad which means they made sure everything was working properly before they sold it and when I brought it home and tried to go on the Internet it didn't work. My sister was using the same wifi and her computer was working just fine. So, I went to the control panel and clicked on troubleshooting for the Internet connection and it said there was a broken cable. I don't see any broken cable. It maybe internal in the actual laptop. The only time the Internet works is when I first turn it on and the longer lm on it or the more tabs I open up, the Internet stops working. I already brought it in TWICE to Geek squad and they haven't done sh** to fix it and I'm ready to just get a new computer. It's still within its warranty so they have been looking at it for free and I think that's maybe why they aren't doing anything. -.- I just really want to get it fixed! Can I do anything? Or do I just need a new computer?

Answer
When the computer tells you the cable is broken or disconnected, it is talking about the Ethernet LAN connection not the WiFi connection.

Most laptops have both Ethernet and WiFi adapters.

You could try connecting directly to your wireless router via a Ethernet cable.

You can get a stronger WiFi adapter that will improve your wireless range.

Wireless adapters come in many types and sizes, you may want a model with external antennas. Here is a highly rated USB model with dual antennas. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006JWMOOI/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B006JWMOOI&linkCode=as2&tag=excharge-20

That being said,

Wireless signals are affected by many factors including distance, wall density, electrical interference, directional antenna range, etc.

All of these factors will affect your actual wireless range. As wireless connection quality varies the connection speeds are renegotiated. The WLAN connection may start at 150 Mbps and end up at less than 10 Mbps or drop entirely.

Note: The WLAN connection speed is only between the device and the router, you are still limited by your WAN Internet speed provided by your ISP.

Often signal strength (bars) displayed by your device can be misleading, WiFi interference can cause havoc with consistent speed. You can prove this fact by moving your WiFi device closer to the wireless router and retesting the speeds. http://speedtest.net Be sure the wireless router is not close to other electrical equipment that may interfere with the WiFi signal.

You should try to centrally locate your wireless router or gateway up high and away from dense walls and electrical and 2.4 GHz wireless interference such as microwave ovens, cordless phones, baby monitors, etc.

For serious gaming or video streaming your best bet is always a direct Ethernet connection. Ethernet is unaffected by wireless interference and will give you a rock solid, stable network connection.

Good Luck...

Home security system vs baby monitor?

rachkw81

We are having Baby #2 in a couple of months and we live in a 2-story home, with our bedroom and main living on a different floor than the children's bedrooms. I want to be able to monitor each of my children in their own rooms by seeing and hearing them at the same time. I am also interested in monitoring them in the playroom. Has anyone found that a home security camera system to be more effective or affordable than a traditional baby monitor? If so, what is it like for you and which system did you use? Geeky dweebs and nerds are especially encouraged to reply with help.

Answer
To be honest, many baby video monitors can offer what you need. You can buy the parent unit and add more cameras as you need to monitor different rooms. I would take a look at the Samsung SEW-3037W. You can view up to 4 rooms at the same time using 4 cameras, via split screen on the parent unit. The night vision quality is good, it works over a large range and you can pan, zoom and tilt with the cameras

Attempted System Recovery, Now Monitor Won't Work?

Aden

Hey there guys, I've been on various sites and working on my own for over 16 hours now.

Here is what is going on:
My computer was starting to slow down, so I thought it was time for a system recovery.
I have a Lenovo Desktop running Windows 8, so I hit the Lenovo Recovery option and my computer shut off to restart in to recovery mode. But when It started back up, my monitor wouldn't recognize my computer.

My monitor is a Samsung SyncMaster Sa300 and whenever I turn my computer on now, it toggles between "Analog" and "Digital" in the upper left and corner. And recently, it has just been completely black and when I try to hit the "Menu" button on my monitor, it says "Test Good".
I have never had a problem like this until I attempted the recovery.

I normally have a DVI cord hooked up from my Radeon Graphics card to my monitor, and I thought maybe the card had came loose, it hadn't. All the cords are good too.

I also attempted to use a VGA cable, hooking it up to the built-in one on the desktop.
And that didn't work either.

Also, I forgot to mention I get the occasional "Check Signal Cable (Digital/Analog)" Message, but that only lasts for about 2.5 seconds then the screen goes black.

This is a fairly new computer and monitor, so this is aggravating me to no extent.

Also, on a side note, I don't think this means anything: When I have my Razer Anansi and Razer Naga plugged in to my computer, occasionally they go black while my computer remains on.

Has anyone else had this problem? Or does anyone know the solution? Is there anywhere I can take it in to get looked at?
Any help would be appreciated here!
I don't know what you mean by command line.
I've tried accessing the menu on my monitor, but all the options are grayed out aside from changing it from PC to AV.
UPDATE: I plugged a laptop in to the monitor and it worked.
I've tried 6 VGA cords and 2 DVI cords with my desktop and i still won't display.

I guess a virus must've destroyed my computer.
FINAL UPDATE: I actually ended up just frying my motherboard from trying to work on it, thanks for the help though! I'll have to resort to only using my Mac. :P

Answer
Viruses don't destroy computers--people do.
Your video driver for your card output has gone away with "system recovery". You must get it back.
Boot to safe mode, install the video driver, reboot normally, set the correct resolution and refresh rate for your monitor, whatever it is.
That is all that can be suggested from so little information.
System Recovery is throwing the baby out with the bathwater. I have not done that for 51 years of computer use. In Windows, try System Restore to a point in past.
Another option is Repair Install of your version. Search Google for instructions. No personal files or drives will change.
Slow computers need periodic card, like oil changes for a car:
Clean up hard disk
Defrag hard disk
Eusing free registry cleaner
Avast! antivirus or Malwarebytes
Spybot Search and Destroy.
Windows Update.
All of above cost you nothing but time.
