Can a baby monitor set off smoke alarm?

A baby monitor runs off a digital signal or an analog signal, whereas a smoke detector uses light (blocked by smoke) or ionization. There's no way a monitor could set off a smoke alarm, unless it caught fire :).
We've had a couple of scenarios where our smoke alarms have gone off mysteriously, and it's been because of a low battery. Hopefully this is your problem as well.
