Q. is there a way to make cordless phones work better with less static or longer range?

A. replace your phones with DECT phones...
only buy pansaonic..
stay away from uniden and vtech...
check your line with a corded phone to ensure that the static is not on the line or jack... and if there is static at the jack, check the NID with the corded phone to determine if the static is inside or outside of your home... if outside call your local telephone provider to make the repairs... if inside and you have wire maintenance then the phone company can come and make the repairs free, otherwise they will charge you - or you can do it yourself, or have someone else do it...
DECT phones operate on 1.9Ghz which is an unlicenced radio spectrum set aside by the FCC for cordless telephone devices only... so other devices should not interfere... also with RF the lower the frequency the further the range, so they will provide better range than 2.4 and 5.8Ghz phones...

Please help! Have troubles finding baby monitor! Any suggestions?
Q. Okay, i have been searching for weeks for a good baby monitor that has video, operates with a 2.4 ghz or dect so there is minimal interference. Either a portable audio or the video itself is portable. Prefer the camera to be wall mountable but if its necessary we can make do with out. Doesn't have to have anything special like lullabies or night lights or anything. But something with a good range as well and indicator for out of range and battery life would be great. And doesn't cost a couple of hundred dollars???? I would really really really like to find something like this but apparently it doesn't exist? Almost every video monitor i come across has bad reviews somewhere. :( Any help would be great. A name to look up? where to get it? I have been searching Amazon, Walmart, Baby's R' Us, target, etc. Maybe i need to be a little lenient on something? idk. HELP please!
A. A cheaper alternative may be one without a video monitor, but with a sensor pad instead. I've got a Tommee Tippee one and it clicks each time baby moves, and will sound an alarm if no movement is detected in 20 seconds. It is reassuring, but not a necessity. You can get by just fine with a standard monitor, you'll go up and check on baby when you hear them anyway.

A. 1.9Ghz is the RF that the handset and base communicate with each other.. that is the frequency that DECT phones operate on... it will provide better range compared to 2.4 and 5.8Ghz phones..

also, since DECT/1.9Ghz has been set aside for cordless communications there is no other consumer wireless devices in this frequency range such as in the 2.4Ghz range, where there is wifi, wireless video cameras, baby monitors, microwave ovens and other devices...
